About this stone

A working parcel of waterworn Ceylon sapphire rough — eleven pieces, 46.3ct total, mostly blues and blue-greys with one pale yellow. Bought out of the Ratnapura gravels and sold on as it came.

Sold as-is and as one lot: no pieces are split out, no yield is estimated, and no treatment claim is made in either direction because the material has not been tested. Rough is bought on your own read of it. Photographed wet and dry — wet is how the colour will look cut, dry is how it looks in your hand.

Treatment & certification

Treatment not yet determined

We have not established the treatment status of this stone and make no claim either way. It is priced as untested material, not as untreated material. An independent report can be commissioned before it ships.

How we know

Untested rough. Sold as-is with no treatment claim in either direction.

Not certified, and a parcel cannot be

A report describes one stone. A lot is sold as-is on what you can see in the photographs — if you want a single piece out of it certified, ask before you buy.

We use the international laboratories rather than local ones, which is the point of paying for it.

Every listing on this site states its treatment, including when the honest answer is that we don’t know. How we describe stones.
