About this stone

Heated Ceylon yellow, which is how effectively all commercial yellow sapphire reaches the market. Clean, bright and well cut, with none of the greenish cast that pulls the price out of yellows this size.

Not laboratory certified. Origin is our assessment from the material's inclusion scene and the parcel it came out of, not a lab call — priced accordingly.

How big it actually is

ANY BANK CARD
The stone’s 11.2 × 9.4mm outline, drawn to the same scale as a bank card. Hold one against the screen and the stone beside it is life size — if the card does not match, zoom until it does. The outline is the idealised shape rather than this stone’s own profile; the photographs are the stone.

Treatment & certification

Unheated

No heat and no other treatment of any kind. Bought at source, so the heat status is known rather than assumed.

How we know

Bought unheated direct from the cutter at Ratnapura. Not laboratory tested — we can send it for a report before it ships if you want the question settled.

Certification available on request$650

We’ll send this stone to GIA, SSEF, Gübelin, GRS or Lotus and it ships with the report. Add it at checkout — the stone and the report are paid for together, the stone then goes to the laboratory, and nothing is dispatched until the report is back. Allow three to six weeks.

We use the international laboratories rather than local ones, which is the point of paying for it.

Every listing on this site states its treatment, including when the honest answer is that we don’t know. How we describe stones.
